ODIP Prototypes projects formulated and agreed
During the ODIP meeting at the SeaDataNet IMDIS Conference, held in September 2013 in Lucca - Italy, the ODIP partners have agreed with the proposed ODIP Protototype projects as formulated in the proposal D3.1. The ODIP Prototype projects are formulated as:
- ODIP 1: Establishing interoperability between SeaDataNet CDI, US NODC, and IMOS MCP Data Discovery and Access services, making use of a brokerage service, towards interacting with the IODE-ODP en GEOSS portals - lead by Europe
- ODIP 2: Establishing deployment and interoperability between Cruise Summary reporting systems in Europe, US and Australia, making use of GeoNetWork, towards interacting with the POGO portal - lead by USA
- ODIP 3: Establishing a prototype for a Sensor Observation Service (SOS) and common standards for SensorML and O&M profiles for selected sensors (SWE), installed at vessels and in real-time monitoring systems - lead by Australia
The actual developments for implementing the Prototypes are foreseen as a joint activity of ODIP participants in synergy with and harvesting from activities underway in related regional projects and initiatives, such as for example SeaDataNet (EU), IMOS (Australia), and R2R (USA). Thereby ODIP will provide a communication and exchange platform where partners can meet, discuss and tune their development activities and ensure that results of actions are turned into components fit for supporting and building the ODIP Prototypes.
